AI Features

ProHunt uses AI across four distinct tools — each turning environmental and terrain data into a specific, actionable hunting advantage.

Quick answer: ProHunt’s AI tools are HuntCast (a universal hunt score forecast), AI Heatmaps (a Pro probability overlay), Scent Cone (real-time wind-based scent visualisation), and Habitat Score (a Pro map layer). The 3-day HuntCast is free; everything else requires Pro.

HuntCast — AI Hunt Score

HuntCast is ProHunt’s flagship AI feature. It processes current and forecast conditions using a proprietary multi-factor formula and produces a single universal score from 0–100 across a 3 to 16 day window. The score is not species-specific — one score applies no matter what you are hunting.

Reading HuntCast scores

  • 85–100 Exceptional — Multiple factors align simultaneously. Reserve your best stands for these windows.
  • 70–84 Good — Above-average conditions. Worth hunting if your schedule allows.
  • 50–69 Moderate — Mixed signals. Manageable for experienced hunters with local knowledge.
  • 0–49 Poor — Conditions work against movement. Better to wait for the next high-scoring window.

What drives the score

HuntCast’s formula is proprietary. Confirmed inputs include wind, moon phase, and barometric pressure, plus additional undisclosed variables. ProHunt does not publish the full formula.

AI Heatmaps

The AI Heatmap is a Pro feature that displays a colour-coded probability overlay on your map. Higher-probability zones appear in warm colours; lower-probability areas in cool colours. The overlay regenerates each time you refresh the map view.

The specific inputs behind the Heatmap model are proprietary and not published.

Best use case

Most useful for pre-season scouting on unfamiliar ground — it helps narrow down where to hang stands, place cameras, and which terrain features to investigate first. Combine with LiDAR for extra context.

Scent Cone Analysis

Scent Cone shows in real time how your scent is spreading downwind from your current position. It calculates the scent plume using live wind speed, wind direction, and terrain shape, then overlays it on the map.

What Scent Cone shows

Scent Cone AI Analysis visualises in real time how wind carries your human scent from your position on the map. Use it — together with your own knowledge of the ground — to choose a position the wind favours.

Scent Cone is a Pro-only map layer.

Habitat Score Layer

Habitat Score is a Pro map layer that rates the hunting quality of terrain across your grounds on a continuous scale, presented as a single visual overlay. The exact inputs are proprietary. Use it alongside LiDAR and the AI Heatmap when evaluating a new property.

Frequently asked questions

How accurate is HuntCast?

Accuracy depends on weather forecast quality and how well local conditions match the model. Most users treat scores of 80+ as a strong signal and combine them with local knowledge. HuntCast is a decision-support tool, not a guarantee.

Does the AI work offline?

Scent Cone requires a live connection for real-time wind data, and the AI Heatmap regenerates when you refresh the map online. Downloaded map areas stay viewable offline; live AI overlays refresh once you are connected again.

Is the HuntCast score species-specific?

No. HuntCast produces a single universal hunt score from 0–100 that applies regardless of the animal you are hunting. There is no separate score per species.

Will the AI overlays update in the field?

The AI Heatmap regenerates when you refresh the map view with a connection, and HuntCast refreshes when new forecast data is available. Scent Cone updates in real time using live wind data. The underlying models and their inputs are proprietary.
