ProHunt — Privacy Policy

Summary: ProHunt is designed with privacy in mind. Your location data stays on your device unless you explicitly choose to share it with your team. We do not sell your data to third parties.
1. Who We Are

2. Information We Collect
2.1 Account Information
- Email address and password (for authentication via Firebase Auth)
- Display name and profile information you provide
2.2 Location Data
- GPS coordinates — used for map display, waypoints, track recording, and weather data
- Location data is stored locally on your device by default
- If you enable Team GPS Sharing, your location is shared with your team members in real time via Firebase Firestore
- You can disable location sharing at any time
2.3 Hunt Data
- Hunt logs, waypoints, observations, photos, and equipment data are stored locally on your device
- If you use Team features, shared hunting grounds and waypoints are synced with your team via Firestore
2.4 Device Information
- Device type, operating system version, and app version (for crash reporting and analytics)
2.5 Usage Analytics
- We use Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used (screen views, feature usage)
- Analytics data is aggregated and does not personally identify you
3. How We Use Your Information
- Provide the service — display maps, weather, forecasts, and hunting data
- Team features — share locations and data with your chosen team members
- Safety features — SOS alerts and emergency contact notifications
- Improve the app — crash reports (via Sentry) and usage analytics help us fix bugs and improve features
- Push notifications — SOS alerts, dog geofence alerts, device notifications (via Firebase Cloud Messaging)

- Local data is stored on your device using encrypted storage (AsyncStorage)
- Cloud data (team features) is stored in Firebase Firestore with security rules
- Authentication uses Firebase Auth with industry-standard encryption
- We do not store your password — Firebase handles authentication securely
6. Data Sharing
We do NOT sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers.
Your data is only shared in these cases:
- With your team members — only when you explicitly opt in to Team GPS Sharing
- With emergency contacts — only when you trigger an SOS alert
- With third-party services listed above — only as needed to provide the service
- If required by law — to comply with legal obligations
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data — all your hunt data is visible in the app
- Delete your account and all associated data — contact us at core.development37@gmail.com
- Export your data — track recordings can be exported as GeoJSON
- Opt out of location sharing at any time
- Opt out of analytics — disable analytics in device settings
Under GDPR (EU/EEA residents), you also have the right to data portability, rectification, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
8. Children's Privacy
ProHunt is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Subscriptions & Payments
- Subscriptions are processed through Google Play or the Apple App Store
- We do not collect or store your payment information — it is handled entirely by Google/Apple
- Subscription management and cancellation is done through your device's store settings
10. Offline Usage
ProHunt works offline for core features (cached maps, saved waypoints, hunt logs). When offline, no data is transmitted. Data syncs when you reconnect.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates the most recent revision.
