ProGetting Started with ProHunt
ProHunt is available free on Android and iOS. This guide walks you through downloading the app, creating an account, and getting oriented so you’re ready to hunt smarter from day one.

ProHunt is optimised for phones and tablets. A data connection is required for the first map load; after that, offline maps (Pro) let you hunt without signal.
Step 1 — Download ProHunt
ProHunt is free to download with no credit card required.

Every new account automatically receives a 7-day free Pro trial. No credit card required to start the trial.
Step 2 — Create Your Account
ProHunt requires a free account to save your data and sync across devices. Sign-up takes about 30 seconds.

Open ProHunt
Tap the ProHunt icon after installation.

Choose a sign-in method
Select Sign up with Email or Continue with Google. Both are free.

Verify your email
If you used email sign-up, check your inbox for a verification link. Google sign-in skips this step.

Set your hunting profile
Choose your primary species and location. This personalises your HuntCast predictions from the start.
Step 3 — Grant Location Permissions
ProHunt needs location access to place you on the map and calculate wind-relative scent cone data.
Select Allow all the time (Android) or Always (iOS) for background team GPS sharing and dog tracking to work while the screen is off.
Android
- Tap Allow when the permission prompt appears on first launch.
- To upgrade to Always-on: Settings → Apps → ProHunt → Permissions → Location → Allow all the time.
- Enable Google Location Accuracy for best GPS precision: Settings → Location → Advanced → Google Location Accuracy.
iOS
- Tap Allow While Using App on first launch.
- To upgrade: Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → ProHunt → Always.
Step 4 — Explore the Map
The map is ProHunt’s home screen. Here’s what you’ll find:
- Your position — shown as a blue dot with a direction indicator.
- Layer toggle — tap the layers icon (top right) to switch between Satellite, Topo, Outdoors, and Dark basemaps, and to enable overlays like LiDAR, Cadastral, or Wind.
- Waypoints — long-press anywhere to drop a pin. Free users get 5; Pro users get unlimited.
- HuntCast score — shown in the top corner. Tap it to open the full 3-day (Free) or 16-day (Pro) forecast.
- Weather HUD — bottom bar shows temperature, wind speed/direction, barometric pressure, and precipitation.
