ProWaypoints
Waypoints are named location pins saved to your map. A waypoint remembers any location with a name, icon, category, photos, and notes. Drop one at a tree stand and you can navigate back to it in the dark without cell service — even years later.
Creating a Waypoint
Three ways to create a waypoint:
- Long-press on the map — hold your finger on any map location for 1.5 seconds. A quick-create menu appears with icon options.
- At your current position — tap the blue GPS dot and select Save as Waypoint. This uses your current GPS position, accurate to 3-5 metres.
- Enter coordinates — from the Waypoints screen, tap + and enter latitude/longitude for locations you know from a map or topo book.
Waypoint Categories and Icons
Assign a category to each waypoint for visual organisation on the map:

Waypoint Details
Each waypoint stores:
- Name — up to 50 characters. Use consistent naming conventions: "Stand-NW-Ridge-01" is more useful than "Stand".
- Category and icon
- Coordinates — latitude, longitude, and altitude
- Notes — unlimited text. Record stand height, approach direction, feeder type, or anything relevant.
- Photos — attach photos to a waypoint. Photograph your stand from the approach trail, the view from the stand, and the surrounding area.
- Date created and last visited
- Linked journal entries — all Hunt Journal sessions linked to this waypoint are accessible directly from the waypoint card
Navigating to a Waypoint
Tap any waypoint and select Navigate. ProHunt displays:
- A straight-line direction arrow pointing from your GPS position to the waypoint
- Current distance and estimated walk time
- Elevation change between your position and the waypoint
Navigation works completely offline — your GPS position and saved waypoints are all local data. No internet required.
Enable the dark topo basemap for pre-dawn stand walks. The low-contrast dark mode is easier on night-adjusted eyes while still showing contours and terrain. Navigate to your stand waypoint using the direction arrow and distance counter.

Sharing Waypoints
- Share to team — mark a waypoint as Team Shared. All team members see it on the map.
- Share via link — generate a link that opens the waypoint location in Google Maps for anyone, no ProHunt app required.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Do waypoints sync across devices?
- Pro is tied to your account rather than a single device, so logging in on another device — such as a tablet — gives you access to your Pro data on that device.
- Can I import waypoints from a Garmin device?
- There is no confirmed bulk import from other GPS platforms today. You can recreate key stands and markers as waypoints in ProHunt — free accounts hold 5 waypoints; Pro is unlimited.
