ProTerrain Layers
ProHunt separates basemaps (the underlying map tiles) from overlay layers (transparent data drawn on top). You can stack multiple overlays simultaneously — LiDAR hillshade with property boundaries and wind arrows, for example — to build the exact information view you need for any hunting situation.

LiDAR Hillshade Pro
High-resolution laser elevation data from airborne LiDAR surveys. Reveals micro-terrain features — small benches, subtle creek edges, hidden saddles — that are difficult to see on standard topographic maps. A powerful layer for stand selection.
Hillshade
Sun-angle shading derived from elevation data that makes terrain three-dimensional at a glance. Available on both free and Pro, but Pro hillshade uses higher-resolution source data.
Contour Lines
Traditional elevation contours that tighten and open up as you zoom. Available on all plans.
3D Terrain Free
Interactive three-dimensional terrain you can tilt and rotate. Helps you understand the spatial relationships between ridgelines, valleys, and your stands — before you ever set foot on the property.
Vegetation and Habitat Overlays
Vegetation Density Free
Satellite-derived canopy density and vegetation classification. Identify clear-cut regeneration (prime young deer habitat), mature hardwood mast stands, and dense softwood thickets used for bedding.
Property and Legal Overlays
Property Boundaries (Cadastral) Pro
Parcel lines with ownership information where available. Land parcel coverage is in active development and expanding across supported countries.
Public Land Boundaries
National Forests, BLM, state game lands, Crown land, and equivalent designations worldwide. Available on all plans.
Weather and Environmental Overlays

Layer Combinations for Common Scenarios
Satellite basemap + LiDAR overlay + Vegetation density + Property boundaries. This combination reveals terrain funnels, bedding cover, food sources, and legal boundaries simultaneously.
Topo basemap + Scent cone + Contour lines + Wind arrows. Before walking to your stand, see exactly where your scent will travel relative to the terrain.
Topo basemap only + contours + waypoints. Minimal layers reduce offline file size and keep the map clear for navigation.
Frequently Asked Questions
- How do I switch layers?
- Tap the Layers button (stack icon) in the top-right of the map. Toggle each basemap and overlay independently. Drag to reorder overlay priority.
- Can I have multiple overlays active at once?
- Yes. All Pro overlay layers can be stacked simultaneously. Each has an adjustable opacity slider so you can tune how dominant each layer appears.
- Are all layers available offline?
- Most layers can be downloaded for offline use via the Offline Maps download tool. Dynamic layers like live weather radar and scent cone require a connection.
